Well, this is certainly a new and strange twist. Alternative history of the wars? Very interesting. Veronica seems to be trapped in time in a different way. Even Mildred doesn't seem to know about her time travel.

Thank you so much for this lovely review, Yvonne. and the biggest hug for the lovely 6 stars! I sometimes wonder what would have happened if we had lost the war. There are good points and bad. Millions of Jews might have been saved for a start.
Veronica has so many more questions chasing around in her head. She needs answers! Coming soon, :))) Thanks, my friend. Sandra xxx

Poor Veronica, thrown into an alternative universe, where there had only been one world war, and Britain had lost that, and Mildred had been forced to work, or would be residing in an alternative state run institution for the elderly and bewildered. What are these time masters playing at? Well you've thrown a clever curve with this one Sandra, well done, good scribing, blessings, Roy

Thank you, Roy, so much for another of your wonderful reviews. Yes, Ver and Mildred are both confused, but it's up to Ver to try and get some more answers. She's not liking the one she has just received from Mildred. Big hugs, dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Well done

Wonderful, if not totally confusing, chapter. I think I can speak for Veronica about the head spinning while trying to figure out what the blazes happened. LOL And, please forgive me. I had missed a chapter and had to quickly go back to read it before finishing this one. I didn't review it. Just quickly read it :) This is getting better and better.

LOL! I've had to do that to you, too. But, we both know we'll catch up. I wouldn't deliberately miss your story, I'm enthralled by it!
Thank you so much for the 6 stars, and the super review. Yes, poor Mildred and Veronica don't know what's going on, both confused for different reasons. Lot's for Ver to sort out. Big hugs, dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Great chapter!~ So bewildering to find so much changed...the chapter brings the reader into that POV most effectively. I found my eyes growing wide in wonder. Lordy!
I can see why someone promoted this for you. It's a riveting chapter with the wonder of time travel...
NOTES
*
Somewhere in the distance I could hear a gentle voice calling my name and pleading with me to open my eyes.
Suggest removing COULD (passive voicing). I heard a gentle voice.
*I could see how tired she was, and (I) felt guilty for keeping her up after what had obviously been a long night.
It was after I'd miserably looked up in the attic,(no ,) that I accepted I would have to wait until Mildred woke up to try and work out what had actually happened.
You could trim this a bit.
After I'd miserably looked up in the attic, I accepted I would have to wait until Mildred woke up to try and work out what had actually happened.
LOL: That thought made me sarcastically laugh out loud. What was my time...?
*
She put the kettle on the range,(no ,) and turned to give me another of her confused looks.
Wow-what a closing hook:
"But we's only had one war, Miss Veronica, an' I'm sure if we'd won it, things would be a lot different...."
Six stars in advance...this really drew me in.
Love,
rd

Aw, thank you so much for the six stars, Rebecca! And the lovely review. There is lots for Veronica to do in the next part. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Well written but bizarre, as you no doubt intended. Where/when is she really? And why? Do you really plan to have Veronica change the outcome of a war? THAT I've gotta see! Meanwhile, she's freezing. Get her a warm nightie or robe before she dies of pneumonia. Then we'd all be doomed! Help! :)

All part of the plot, Phyllis. :))) (that's a giggle lol) Thank you so much for all the wonderful stars, and lovely review! Yes, she's going to be wearing a thermal nightdress with woolly socks and a pom-pom night-cap to bed later, I'm lending her one of mine! LOL. Veronica will be trying to find out if it is her fault, and if it is, what she can do to put it right. Time will tell! Thanks again, my dear friend. Big hugs. :)) Sandra xxx

Sandra you are a wonder! How do you ever keep track of where you are in these time travel stories? Now it seems to be a what if story and everything has changed. Even wars!
You are really a story teller my friend! I was wanting to get her out of that skimpy nightgown and into something warm. LOL Good Job. Nancy

You didn't happen to see a missing alien in this part, did you, Nancy! It seems Eric has lost one! LOL. Don't worry, Veronica will put on her thermal nightie the next time she goes to bed, lol. Thank you so much, Nancy for this lovely review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

This was great Sandra. I do not know who to feel sorrier for- Veronica because she is obviously in the wrong time and it is the result of history being changed or Mildred because at her ripe old age she is still working in a factory on night shift and doesn't understand what Veronica is talking about. You created a lot of suspense and intrigue with this chapter. It will be interesting to learn what exactly happened and if it can be corrected. Very, very well done, thanks so much for sharing. Big smiles and hugs.

Aw, thank you, Alie! What a lovely review. There are lots of questions Veronica will want answered, but she will have to take it steady. She won't want Mildred sending for the men in white uniforms! lol. Thank you so much for the lovely 6 stars, and fabulous review. I always appreciate your input. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Great racy continuation, Sandra. As you always do, you come up with fantastic dialogue which helps to keep raising the tension from paragraph to paragraph. Both Vero and Mildred appear to be somewhat confused at the moment. Will they overcome their obstacles? I'm really looking forward to the next installment.
All the best,
Aki

My goodness, something is right off. History has been altered, or so it seems to me. How can that have happened. No wonder they are as baffled as the other. What are the Powers To Be thinking of? Where is this going?
How lovely to be donated pumps. That has happened to me as well. It's an amazing feeling.
Big hugs. Ulla xxx

Thank you so very, very much for the six stars again, Ulla!! Goodness, you really are generous, and so kind. I think Veronica and Mildred have to have a proper talk. What has happened? Is it something they did? If so, can they put it right? Lots to sort out. Thank you, my friend. Biggest hugs. Sandra xxxx
When I saw how much he'd put on for me, I was stunned! It makes me wonder how on Earth that other author above us all can afford all the pumps he's put on for all his prose and poetry! I'd be bankrupt if I did that!! I wouldn't mind, but I reviewed him when he put them on the first time round! :(

What a lovely gesture. I'm so pleased for you. It is a fantastic story you're writing. How can I not give it a six. xxx
