Yours is an excellent Minute poem, Yvette, perfectly composed and well rhymed.
The overall feel and flow of the piece as I read it seemed smoother than most Minutes I have read in the past.
This should do very well in the contest.
But, you know how that goes.
Good luck!

Ha! Yeah, don't worry, I quit holding my breath a long time ago! LOL! I am so very glad you enjoyed this one, though, Dean -- I wrote it on a rainy day when I already had 'the blues' ... not a broken heart, just the occasional 'female thang' (seems no matter how old we get, the hormones and circumstances still catch up to us once in a while!! lol) ... but it made the mood and word choice more 'straight forward'. :) ;) :) Hope this finds you well, sir -- be sure to have great remainder of the week filled with adventures of the heart or of the mind (or both!!)! :) :) Yvette :)

I'm still in the hospital, Yevette.
No idea yet when I'll get to go home.
I have been here a week and three days so far.
Best of luck.

This was so beautiful! It made me think of my neighbor who is recently widowed and sometimes she has these sensations of his presence as she misses him. Well done!

So glad you enjoyed, Helen, but sad for your neighbor....cannot imagine. :( You know, I wrote this one on a rainy day when I already had 'the blues' ... not a broken heart, just the occasional 'female thang' (seems no matter how old we get, the hormones still catch up to us once in a while!! lol) ... but it made the mood and word choice more 'straight forward'. :) ;) :) Thanx, as always, for dropping by and be sure to have great remainder of the week filled with adventures of the heart or of the mind (or both!!)! :) :) Yvette :)

I'm here, My heart, to sing our song. I wait alone. When you do call we'll have a ball. I like yours better. :) :). Wow, Yvette, your feeling show the beauty of your heart. The sadness of the last two lines talked to me. This is a good entry for the Minute contest.

You have certainly made my day in more ways than you know!! :) :) Thank you so very much for these wonderful comments and for the six shining stars! ;) :) You know, I wrote this one on a rainy day when I already had 'the blues' ... not a broken heart, just the occasional 'female thang' (seems no matter how old we get, the hormones still catch up to us once in a while!! lol) ... but it made the mood and word choice more 'straight forward'. :) ;) :) Thanx, as always, for dropping by and for seeing something more on the page than just the words! :) ;) You be sure to have great remainder of the week filled with adventures of the heart or of the mind (or both!!)! :) :) Yvette :)

I love the simplicity of emotion longing for the physical touch. You don't mince words nor use flowery words, yet I feel a deep connection to how you feel. I love the use of the rain, the breeze, the sun, and the warmth that did not last. The flow, the rhymes are all well done. The use of simple words, like the last line, adds power to the meaning you convey. Very well written and touching in a romantic way. By the way, I love the photo of the storm, raining down on the ocean. It fits the Minute poem excellently.
Take care, Jesse

This is it!!" :) :) :) Thanx, as always, for dropping by and be sure to have great remainder of the week filled with adventures of the heart or of the mind (or both!!)! :) :) Yvette :)

Hi Yvette
You seem to be so in touch with your feelings. I love that about you. I, too, keep close to my feelings. Sometimes that benefits my poetry, and other times it prevents me from wanting to write. I'm glad that image screamed at you. It was definitely the right choice for this piece. I wish you the best for the remainder of your week, as well. I shall see if my time is filled with adventures of the heart and mind as I roll along with the moments that make up each day.
Take care, Jesse

OH...this is filled with such a tender-hearted emotion! I could "feel" the desire and need to be loved. Your minute is nicely constructed and the rhyming pattern flows perfectly. Good luck in the contest.

Wow. Not only is this minute poem beautifully poignant, your presentation is so creatively original it took me a minute to realize it WAS a minute poem - fabulous!
Best of luck in the contest with this jewel!

Comment from Gloria ....
Very nice presentation Yvette. The minute poem has so much potential with creative minds such as yours.
Just presenting in an unexpected layout brings fresh light to it.
Lovely in all respects and I wish you great luck with the Contest Committee.

I find I am enjoying these minute poems. I don't know if it's the rhythm or the rhyme scheme. Or maybe just the most talented people are doing them. But this is the third one I review and I like this one a lot. Very romantic. Good luck in the contest, Yollande.

Wonderful poetry, Yvette. It is the essence of a love story in brief and yet so effective for the reader's senses. Good luck to you in the contest. Bob
