Carolyn;
an excellent argument on what prejudice really is And how should one perceive it and that is written in an acrostic poetic form. I enjoyed this because it was quite witty of you to put the discussion of how we perceive one during an incident and how soon we are to judge it by using a prejudicial statement.
Your acrostic poem was done very well and the imagery was very descriptive and expressive in an annotated commentary type of way.
Thank you for share I am posting this for everyone to read and may the Lord be with you always.
Alex

Exceptional poem, Carolyn, such a powerful read. The words flow excellently from one line to the next, nothing seems forced. You are so right, we live in such turbulent times, if we would take the time to set aside our prejudices, justice may prevail. Best of luck in the contest.

this is an excellent write, Carolyn, you did an excellent job writing this acrostic poem about the way we have to look within ourselves and draw out the good to overcome the prejudice nature around us. I enjoyed reading it. good luck in the contest. the deadline is the day my mother died last year. that will be a hard day for me.

A solid acrostic for Prejudice
good alliteration in certain situations stand
good pairing of obvious/obscured
You offer wise advice about the nature of prejudice and how to avoid acting on it
You have me dying of curiosity about why you chose the artwork?? :-) Brooke

Thanks Brooke for this wonderful review and analysis of Prejudice. First of all. I wrote the poem prior to the picture. VMargarite seems to silhouette much of her work, which I like. As I browsed, I came across this one with the 'ball up in the air.' Where will it land, into which hand will it fall. We can not 'know' for certain until it happens. Pre----judice isn't like that. Even though we don't know, we will insist we do 'know,' and will voice that opinion or action, in spite of our intellect.
Hey that's a pretty good essay... maybe I will write it quickly so I don't forget. LOL
    Hope that helps.

Yes, I agree with you, as long as people realise that prejudice can be two ways. People also have to banish their hatred for fellow man, whatever the colour. Well written acrostic with well chosen words and message. Good luck in the contest. Faye

I love the photo that you choose for your poem.
The picture tell is all,
you inspired me to write a poem to express what I see.
Title a picture tells it all. it's not finish yet.
Oh if only the world would be 1/2 like your poem what a better place this world would be

Carolyn you certainly played the right notes to that
song,
but we both know that as long as we are in this body of
sinful flesh it 'aint a-gonna happen.

How true it is that circumstances are not always what
they appear to be.

The best place to leave judgenent is in the place of He who judges righteously, without malice and without prejudice, I certainly don't trust myself! a deftly written and skilfully scribed acrostic Carolyn, and some worthwhile wisdom to boot! The wisdom you have gained is a testimony to He who reigns forever! well done, Blessings, Roy.

Thanks so much Roy for the thoughtful comments and the shining cross at the end of the stars. Sometimes it is harder to apply our 'wisdom' than to voice it. Thank God for prayer. :-) Carolyn

I really like this poem for the acrostic contest. Prejudice causes so much hate and mistrust and it can be so hidden within us. All lines are good guides to guarding against it. Good luck with contest.
