Hi Bev,
An excellent post for this story. I was sad at to read of Stan's death, and the continuing mystery seems amplified.
I enjoyed reading this post. Great dialogue, and a sense of urgency as the story moves on. I also liked the emotion from the whole post, it felt real to me.
Well done and thanks for sharing.
Maureen.

Well, Eisner's gone and any information that he might have had about the murder may have died with him unless he left something in writing in the safe.
I'm sure Derek can't wait to find out what's in the letter and if anything else helpful is in there.
Nicely done.

Wow! This is as well written and suspenseful as anything I have seen on TV or the movies. This story is very well crafted it holds together very well. There is nothing amateurish about it. Your experience shows very well in the way that this story is told from beginning to end. I cannot wait to read what happens next.

Loved this tension filled chapter. This poor detective is never going to get to the bottom of this murder. I'm just sorry to drop in as I have missed quite a bit of this story. But I see nothing is solved so I am not disappointed at all.
Nice fast pace too. Bring on the next. luv jada

Hi, Jada. Thank you, my friend, for this awesome review. I know a few folks are wanting to know who the murderer is like right now LOL. They'll have to trust me we ARE getting closer. I have to remember that the average novel is around 100,000, words. It's cool, though, because it shows they're really interested. Again, thanks much, Jada. Hugs, Bev

The only one that has possibly information about Debrah's death is now critically ill in hospital. They fear for his life in a natural way and maybe even foul play. He died of natural causes but there is a safe in his house that might give them more information.

Holy cow, Bev! Your writing just gets more prolific and amazing with every new chapter. Sounds like the poets influenced some of your descriptions. I was particularly impressed with the beats and body language.
The plot twist was unexpected and perfectly timed, the dialogue perfect, especially with the introduction of Duffy.
I loved the fact that the sheriff immediately picked up on the ex-military, and loved the recognition of brotherhood between doctors and law enforcement.
Thank you for this. It was a treat to read!

Somehow, with being off and on site so much over the
last few months, I seem to have lost track of this
story. I will try to go back and catch up, although
I will likely not review when I do so.
thanks for sharing

Jan, I just appreciate you stopping by at this point. It's hard to keep up with all the great novels going on right now. I've had to pick out just a few because I also follow poets. One only has so much time in the day. Thank you for your words of support and kind review. Warmest regards, Bev
Comment from Dawn Munro
Wow, Bev this chapter is like being there - your details, like the woman in the Mercedes talking on her cell phone, Derek mentioning he was sure the doctor had business elsewhere - all of it lends itself so well to immediate plot 'action' and that is exactly what is missing sometimes to keep the reader not only involved, but 'champing at the bit' to read the next line. Exceptional writing, Bev - I swallowed it whole.
