Sorry out of sixes. This truly is worthy of that accolade. This poem promotes a message we should all support. Superbly written with sensational rhyme and meter. This is written superbly and shows exactly how real poetry should be written

Wow Bob! You really know how to lift a guy's spirits. Your healing words have really touched me in a way that is both healing and uplifting. I thank you so much for that.

We are one species, despite how we look, dress or sound - exactly right, Nomi. So why is it so hard to just take people as they are, no matter who they worship, where they live, qwhere they come from. I've never been able to understand that, nor the idea of continually bringing up past histories. That is what happens in Australia. Hopefully one day it will change. Well said, Nomi.
cheers,
valda

It is fine to remember the past, learn from the mistakes of the past and then to move on from there. It is one thing to be a student of the past, but yet another thing to be a prisoner of the past.

So sad. I am Australian but the politics of the US horrifies me with its nastiness and vitriol, particularly from one side. Your poem expresses so well the divisiveness, hatred and prejudice which seem to characterise so many. Your plea for sharing the earth with peace and harmony is very poignant.

Hello Wendy, Good to hear from you again. Yes the Earth was designed to house all of us, yet some greedy people want to hold onto more than their fare share. They will go to just about any lengths to accomplish that goal. Meanwhile some greedy politicians will sell their literal souls to help them achieve that goal for a filthy few pennies. How sad.

Nomi,

Amen to each line of your poem my friend.

Centuries upon centuries, man has not learned to accept one and all as brothers and sisters, simply as your line says:

We are one species, despite how we look, dress or sound

I pray that people see and come to there senses in our next election and keep Trump out of office and maybe his next stop should actually be prison.

Be well, my friend.

Yes, a very real, very poignant discussion that we all need is reminding of. Discrimination is a society killer. And then it kills for real
I hope that things turn out well and I hope that our leaders of the world will come out of the sandbox now and put on their big boy pants. Thank you for this great write that brings up many feelings and opinions. Old arguments that people have still prevalent today. Good job.I enjoyed it quite well.I hope you have a great night!

Amen and Amen, dear Nomi!! I am also sick of all the hatred that is espoused by a certain candidate. During his past time in office I have experienced open hostility from strangers because as the head of this country he made it acceptable to be openly racist.

Yes but, the number of people who though not being racist themselves did not call out and expose the hate among neighbors and or family members. That has by and large changed somewhat.

You would think wouldn't you that, after all this time and effort on the part of the great activists who have fought so hard to bring about a better, fairer world, that we might have learned about living in harmony and treating each other as equals? Your impassioned verse on anonymity reflects our divided position and pleads for a greater understanding that we are one species with one purpose to share the earth with love instead of hate and inclusivity instead of oppression. Thank you, Nomi, for sharing your inspiring verse of hope and faith. Take care Debbie

Thank you Debbie. It is sad is it not. People who read the scriptures on a regular basis, ignore the parts of the Bible they don't agree with and think that it is ok with God. Hypocrites one and all.

A poem that I totaly agree with on every line and stanza. Discrimination is pure ignorance and an anathema to God. I believe that when some one discriminates they are working off of ego and feelings of insecurity. Well done friend.

I'm not American, but I can't wait for the American election to be over. It seems to have been going on for quite some time now, but there's less than a week to go now. A well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.

This is a very well written poem full of the truth my friend. I bet it makes Jesus sad when He sees His children saying and doing such things. Both sides could improve on that. God should be first! Blessings, Teri

The sad fact about politics is that it turns some people into unprincipled liars and thugs, so intent on winning that the gloves come off and all sorts of dirt come in to play. Shame on them all.

Amen my brother! I will be glad when that is over and Halloween too! May God bless you my brother in the Lord!
