"The Roadrunner, Glen and Debi" Why, how so sweet and tributary of you.
"She said,
It was loud," What was loud?
"She saw me win,
I asked her in." Hmm, what a fast worker he was. :-)
"But when babies come,
You can't be dumb." I guess there's a time for everything. LOL
"Let's go on a merry-go-round,
How does fifty years sound?" Geez, hope they haven't gotten dizzy. LOL
Nice poem. I enjoyed reading it.

The Plymouth Roadrunner, shiny green was loud and fast. Fastest in three counties. That is got Miss Debi interested.

The baby reference was when she driving the car on her way to a doctor's appointment, to confirm she was pregnant with their first child. On the way to the appointment, she turned down a drag race, because she knew she was with child. Thanks for reading. Terry.

Check We'll have 45 n the rear view mirror come June. Any more hence forward will simply be icing on the marital cake. Now, where did that little figurine go we had in 79?

This was a great poetic tribute to Glen and Debi! She is a total sweetheart, and she deserves every happiness. I loved your rhymes, and the last line was so sweet. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you (and Glen and Debi).

Bravo! You tapped that inner poet, mixed it in with the "tale of the Roadrunner" that Debi has shared was the "magic" that brought them together, and penned a love poem I'm positive Debi will adore!

Terry, from the year or so I've gotten to know Debi from conversations and postings, your poem nailed it magnanimously.
To think, 50 years, incredible! And still counting as your final line stated.

So nicely worded and posted!

Cheers my friend.

John, thank for the kind review. I know they liked that Plymouth Roadrunner, that brought them together. I know they both wish they still had it. Terry.

Well, this is a whole new Terry and I like it, I think. I read it twice to be sure and, yes, I like it. Clear, amusing, tells a story with a beautiful ending. A super tribute to Debi and Glen. ann

This is a beautifully written he said she said poem, and I enjoyed very much listening to it. Your words move along smoothly as they are read aloud. I wish you the very best with all of your writing and you have a good day and may God bless you. Patricia .

I know a couple who made sixty-six years before the husband died. I know a couple who made it out of Vegas and called it quits. Love is tough.
Writing about it, I have found, is absolutely impossible for me. I guess you have to know your subject to write about it. I know the less rosy side of life I guess. I think that makes me appreciate poetry more. Or, I could just be an old romantic sap. Who knows?

I love it, Terry!
What a cute poem to add to Debi and Glen's story. Yours and Sally's are going to be hard acts to follow. Cute analogy with the road runner. Love the last stanza!!! Just a start!!

Take care,
Rhonda

Ronda, thank you for the kind review, but you know I'm not a poet, at least not much of one. But this was fun. Terry.
