This contest entry left me wanting more. That's a good thing. I guess she didn't need to worry about what she wore. This was truly a blind date, but then again, they will be required to actually get to know each other and not count on looks. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Sure sounded like a real blind date, Paul.
You did a great job with your contest entry.
Everything led up to the exit from the taxi--
a great twist.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

What the actual ....? You got me. Here she goes through all the preparation of making sure that she looks just right, that she looks good for her blind date. Then she discovers that for this particular blind date had a literal meaning that she should have paid attention to. Good one.

Perhaps this will be the best date she has ever had, a meeting of the minds as looks are only skin deep Paul. A clever write and I enjoyed the suspense, love Dolly x

Hi Paul, I must admit this made me smile. The twist of the little tale took it to its literal conclusion. Very well thought out. Bind date indeed!
Good luck with this. Ulla:)))

Well that certainly was a surprise ending and literally a blind date. I think the guy would have previously warned her that he was blind. A very cute idea. Good luck in the competition. Jen.

-Good image to go with your story, Paul.
-I enjoyed reading it.
-She was nervous, but he had chosen a nice restaurant.
-That was a good thing.
-She also took care with how she looked,
"wanting to make a good impression."
-A very good twist at the end.
-Good luck in the contest.

Cute story - definitely a blind date. She'll have to rely on her personality to make a good impression rather than the clothes she's wearing.
Stylistically, I thought more variation could be made in the sentences - for instance, having 'She had' as the beginning to several sentences is repetitious.
The last sentence feels a little awkward to me: 'While waiting on a bench outside the restaurant a taxi pulled up'... perhaps it could be amended to 'While she waited on a bench outside the restaurant a taxi pulled up'. Yes, that would make an extra word but you could save one by writing ''she'd'' instead of ''she had'' somewhere.

Thanks for the critique, LisaMay. I should have spent a little more time on this one.

Double blind, double entendre... clever.
It's very hard (for me) to review flash fiction. Tom ought to relax the rules a bit for very shorts works.
But you wrote it well. Good work.
Best wishes.

That's literally a blind date! She took all that time to pick up a perfect outfit not knowing it was one he would never see. He picked a restaurant where he knew his way around. Good luck in the contest.
