What a delight to read about the season of Spring while the chills of winter still abound all around -these brave little plants remind us too of weathering our own storms

This is a great poem about the resilience of violet and heather flowers. Although, I have never been a fan of violet or heather flowers, I understand others may care for them. I prefer vibrant reds, yellows and other colored flowers. The text is a great size. The message of hope for winter to quickly past is understood especially for those living in Upstate NY.
I would expand the poem box. I would drop the first line down one space and go to the last word in the poem and hit enter twice. Now your poem will have more space around it. Good luck in the contest.

Yes, I know what you're saying about violet and heather; they're overwhelming, like weeds, actually. Still, as you mentioned, some just LOVE them...first and foremost their Mother-Earth. She wants her children to proliferate so she can stand out and be admired.

Thanks for the spacing tips. I'll get on them!

I love the descriptions of muster, bluster, cluster in your second verse and the tenacity of the flowers to hold on to mother earth and state their claim. Well written Rachelle, and I wish you well while needing to be in bulldozer mode. Cheers

Thank you very much, Pearl! Yes, there's a LOT of clustering and blustering to Mother-Earth! I'm pretty sure my bulldozer self will prevail!

Great job on this lovely poem full of springtime and the delicate bouquets. I saw your contest and may try to enter. I will need to steer my thoughts to warm breezes, budding trees and exquisite new flowers. So well done,Rachelle!!

Oh! How ebulliently brilliant! Tis in the depths of bitter frosts we most have to think of spring...and yet, even in spring, there are battles to beat back the untamed growth and allow the sweetest petals to blossom! A metaphorical tour de force! All these icy pounds of snow will not defeat the light of truth and beauty. Beware of fickle flowers though ~ some look much more benevolent than they are!

Who doesn't love the thought of ridding our space of the weeds that invade the areas that we worked so hard in, After all they snuff out the good and lovely flowers that give us our enjoyment. They grow here in MN, just a little too close to us. Perfect poem for the season that is upon us. Your carefully chosen words remind me of one of my favorite writing phrases; the pen is mightier than the sword.

Good luck with the weather. Depending how North or West towards the lake you may be, what we read of that territory s frightful. Winter has begun its quarterly journey, and I'm sure, save for a few, NYers will be glad to rid themselves of the worst of it.

We're just enough East of Buffalo to have missed it, thankfully. It is bitter cold, though!

Rachelle, this is genuinely a glimpse of the warmth to come, but the cold has just begun here in Upstate Ny, and while your words are warming they became distant, but I can assure not lost in anticipation. I loved this! Best, JohnC

Hi Rachelle,
Yes, sometimes flowers are very resilient, seem even more so the humans.
This is beautiful artwork of a field of heather.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and may you and the flowers stay healthy
Happy New Years.

There's probably some violets in there, too, I bet! Where there's heather, violets are always trailing along!

    Thanks for the nice review!

I didn't know that about violets and heather.
    Your very welcome, Rachelle.
