A sad truthful story of the present situation in Ukraine and how the people are suffering just now. The threats that are coming our of Russia are frightening, they are loose with warring words and I fear they will completely flatten Ukraine before this is over, a poignant write, love Dolly x

I don't have time to properly review this before midnight but I wanted to give my last six for the week out to someone showcasing what is happening in the war. Thanks for doing that.

This is a very well written story you have penned about a real reality happening to those people in Ukraine. You used very good descriptive words. It is so sad and heartbreaking that anyone could be so evil to people that have done nothing wrong. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Teri

I drove around my city today. There is homelessness, hunger, some crime, I'm sure, sickness and suffering on a small scale. But I thought of the people in Ukraine and how their entire world is in shambles. God love them, God bless them and God help them find peace. Your poem, lovely in its tribute. Thank you.

Yes,it more that certain that the US has more than enough wrong to say Grace over, but these stalwart people in Ukraine are caught in throws of mans worst inhumnity against man. So,so, sad!

Wow, you really summed it up nicely in the poem. Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine. I wish your poem could be read by the Russian people, most of whom don't approve of this war. If they could see what is really happening they might rebel against their ruler.

And still, our "leader" refuses to open our Keystone pipeline, so we don't have to buy oil from Russia, and last I heard, refused to cease buying it from them. I may be wrong on that one as I haven't had the news on this afternoon, but it was so, last I heard.
Putin knows we have a weak President and an administration more concerned with global warming than their own country's safety and strength. What about OUR BORDER?
Your well written and informative poem speaks the truth and it's a horrible one. I've heard that some of the Russian soldiers have been aiding the Ukraine citizens, bless their hearts, but on the whole I fear they will be overwhelmed.
Anyway, you did a great job with this piece.

Ten days ago, we woke up in disbelief. At least here in Europe. History was repeating itself. An innocent country was attacked because it went on minding it's own business, and had the audacity to believe in democracy and freedom of its people.
Now, some barbarian, called Putin could not abide to that.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful poem with us. As you can see, I'm upset and very angry. Ulla:)))

I enjoyed your intense story poem. You were creative with the writing prompt. I describe you writing as intense because it made me feel many emotions as I read it. I hope all that read this will find compassion in their hearts and pray for all the people of Ukraine.

Having traveled and stayed in Sebastopol in the Crimea in 2005, when it was Ukrainian, and then continuing our trip through Russia, culminating in exiting via St. Petersburg, we have a different perspective on Ukraine. It was great both places, but they are a brave people, the Ukrainians. A beautifully written post, a quality work, well done, blessings Roy

Roy, I feel the Russian people are at as much at risk under the current situation, I feel Putin miscalculated his position and has himself painted in a corner.
-
I agree, I think he thought it would be easy.

Thank you for sharing this story in a poem. The harsh realities of one man's created madness is truly horrific.
Thank you for the map that put a picture of the story in our minds and the names are written in our hearts as we pray for the Ukrainians and for us all.
Blessings
