This is a fantastic fantasy story. It sounds like Dr. Nan is adjusting well to her newly discovered mission in life. There is a lot that isn't explained here but I guess we have to acknowledge that she found something that impacted her life in a big way. Good entry for the contest.

This is very good. The protagonist Nan is presented (at first) as a sleep deprived combat doctor who one expects to wake from a snatched nap with technicolor highlights. It rapidly changes to a real life situation where Nan finds herself at the head of an Intergalactic Rescue Team with strange patients and odd looking assistants. The story ends with Nan realizing she is in this for the rest o her life. she shrugs and gets on with it. Her PTSD is a thing of the past cheers Cass
