This is delightful to read. Nicholas is getting introduced to all sorts of magical creatures and fixtures. It looks like being the grounds keeper can be an exciting and rewarding job--if all the magical elements approve.

I enjoyed this chapter, YM. Your dialogue is fun to read. I can 'hear' these two standing there discussing all that is happening. I love the idea of the pink armadillo. I want to very much, but mom has definitely taken a turn for the worst. Hospice thinks that she is in the dying phase now. I hate to leave her. She is very clingy. It's pretty awful around here. I need to get out, but I need to be strong for her.

I'll let you know. I've been expecting this for a year and a half now. They took her off of Hospice a few weeks ago, but I appealed and won. Thank goodness I have their help.

I am in awe of your imagination... illumination coming on each time young Nicholas enters the shed, a rose bush standing guard, the silly gnome stomping around and now a pink armadillo! This story rocks as my 10-year-old grandson would say.
