A wonderful, loving poem. It is so touching. Congratulations on your 44 years of happy marriage. You must be a wonderful wife. He seems to really appreciate you. A lot in marriage is a sacrifice, but you've been through the honeymoon and the 7 year itch (lol) and now, 44 years later, you say that every day was a honeymoon. I liked your rhymes and flow.

One nit:

I cook; I clean, and make the bed,
Then ensure sure my man is fed.

I think in the second like you have one "sure" too much

You probably meant:

Then ensure that my man is fed.

Great poem. An encouragement to all that are considering an institution of marriage.

Hi Ytbard Thanks for your review and picking up my spag I didn't see that so have corrected it now. Yes 44 yrs is a long time in todays standards so we have done well and have a terrific family and friends so we are very rich in many ways. Although still both working to ensure our retirement is secure. Cheers and much appreciation Christine

I've been married for 28 years and I can empathize with the part about spending money. I often tell my husband he would be a millionaire if he wasn't married to me.

Hi Maria, Thank you and we seem to be alike I love spending on clothes and shoes but have been much better lately as we need to save more for retirement funds. 28 years is a good effort also well done and keep going Cheers Christine
