Was he grate-ful for his name?no !.......it's better than being full of bologna.....I guess that was unkind....

Who in their right mind would name a pig bologna? Porky, maybe, or Wilbur, Babe, even. But bologna?! That does seem a bit cruel. At least lil' piggy was able to change his name--for posterity's sake, of course.
OINK! (That's "good luck" in piganese)

How I love the senryu poetic form, though, correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't the senryu evoke other than humor most of the time? Doesn't matter ... What you've done here is created a very humorous poem in a very difficult format.

Well, I guess any kind of meat name is not good for a pig, Ham would have been much worse, or maybe bacon. But I like cheese, it's safe and neutral. Good on the syllable count.

Your poem is in excellent 5/7/5 syllable count
A fun look at how this unkindly named pig decided to change his own fortune LOL
an amusing response to this prompt

Whoever named the pig Bologna needs to be smoked him or herself :) This was a witty little poem and you did capture the 5-7-5 witty animals theme. good effort.

Well, that'll show 'em, lol. The picture is adorable, and the poem is witty, so you definitely fulfilled the prompt. A pig renaming himself is tired of all the bologna that we people are full of. Best of luck to you in the contest.
