this is very well written, mystery writer, a senryu about the crocodile tears that can be witnessed. i have to ask though, what is prate? i wish you the best of luck in the contest.

Your poem is in excellent syllable count/form
good alliteration and commentary in plastic people/prate
strong satori line - you are very insightful as I have seen more "plastic" behavior at funerals than I care to remember :-) Brooke

a rather strong indictment of people. but, I don't find it out of order in the least. a lot of truth in it. quite true that many at a funeral are hiding a silly grin behind their hands pretending to sob as though they are grieving over someone they hardly know. a strong entry I believe. well done, mikey
