This is really a beautiful write notesandmore, there's nothing about it that I didn't find to be endearing...and to be representative of your creative talents as well! I found this particular stanza to be especially profound...
Or will I write of love for self
and conceitedly think of only me
or will I share, will I care
and compassionate strive to be
Now that's good stuff!
Thanks for sharing this one, and all the continued best to you going forward!
With warm regards...

I really like the variety of things you consider as possible poetic subjects for the day and the shift in tone from all the fanciful things to the far more weighty and serious things - a thoughtful look at poetic inspiration
good alliteration in sailboats and sand dunes and in pen proclaim

Hi Carolyn,
Well, you thought of something to write about .... and it was very good!
I think that because there are just so very many things that we can choose to write about, that sometimes we just don't know where to start. Nothing in particular pops out at us at the time when we are desperately wanting to write.
Your poem clearly conveys the thought process of a poet (at least this one), in wondering what to write about.
A very enjoyable read, Carolyn!

Thanks Connie, I am glad you could relate. The fact that you can't think of anything in particular is sometimes the inspiration you need. :-) Carolyn

Yes, you're right on that! :)

I really like your writing. My computer is down so I am using the public Library one. It's OK but not like my own. I hope to get mine smoking again soon.
Keep sending me your great works, and I'll get around to reviewing them eventually.

Jerry

Hi, Carolyn, it doesn't seem like I've read anything of yours lately and you have read anything of mine, but I might be mistaken. This poem looks like you've kind of run out of things to say.
Sometimes when I am lost on what to write, I get away from it for a while. When my mind has rested, a subject or thought will comes, and I can again write.
This poem has rhyme in it, but since it is not consistent, it must be free verse.
I just want to let you know I enjoyed reading it.

Thanks April, I am pretty far behind in reviews as my husband Larry has not been well. However, I think the last thing I reviewed of yours was the conclusion of your wonderful book. Keep them coming, I will catch up soon. :-) Carolyn

Thank you very much notesandmore for sharing this well written poem with bands, myself and other readers/writers. With this type of form you what it means to write one this in itself is one that is really great. Your rhythm and meter are done very well and that makes it very easy for me to read your poem. Lying is neither force, strained or labored. You have a good wedding God bless.

Hi Carolyn,
I think you did a great job in writing this poem. I sure enjoyed reading it and thinking about everything you wrote. I really like the second verse where you talked about Jesus and God, although the whole poem is wonderful.

Hi Carolyn, how are you.like to think that you and your family are doing very well.
I read your poem with a lot love and concentration. I love it very much. It flows very smoothly on the same theme.
But I could the urgency of your heart to find something to write on. I was expecting that you found it at the end. Unfortunately no.
Sit at your table and wait leaving your mind to flow .don't try to stop it.
When it is quiet, look into your heart and listen. The write on the first image that comes ,concentrating. Write everything that comes down.as you go there will be something that catches your inspiration.
Hope I am not intruding on your way of writing,
Sorry otherwise
God bless you and your family.

Hi Bennie, It would seem sometimes, as in this poem, that lack of inspiration can be inspiration in its self. I am glad you enjoyed the read. I have several running around in my head. :-) Looking forward to your next one, I remain, your friend, Carolyn
