This is a very well written chapter. It is surprising that Kip did not attack. He would have enough intelligence to relealize this was the man that kicked him.

Hey Charlie,
Thanks for the great review. Well, Kip is a clown, at least up until now. I think Rudy's going to be surprised to see her new personality emerge. I hope so, anyway!
Hugs,
Gayle

Hi Pat,
I figure in about six months, you'll be able to do just that! Thank you so much for the encouragement and your consistent reading. I don't think you've missed a chapter!
Thanks a bunch<~>

This is another excellent chapter, Gayle. A couple of things here bring questions to my mind. 1) I am a bit surprised that Rudy didn'tnotice Kip's mouth bleeding since he is very sensitive to dogs. 2)I've had both Chows and Labs, and in both cases, the slightest sound (many of which were inaudible to humans) or motion would send them into a frenzy. The Chow I had, and I understand that Dobies share many of the same characteristics would promptly eat anyone who hadn't been properly introduced. At the very end of the chapter, it looks like Kip is moving in that direction. Very well done.

Hey Frank,
Rudy hasn't seen the second kick yet. The first time it hurt, but she didn't bleed much. As for Kip, remember, she won't bite? She failed all the training classes for guard dog. But y'know, I think she may be coming into her own. As for why they didn't bark, they teach guide dogs to be pretty quiet and reserved around strangers. Now Kip, hmmm, not like any Dobie I ever had. Oh and Chows. Man, they're tough. Did you know that on the top level of agressive dogs, the Akita is first? Evidently they're close to the wolf, gene wise. Proplem is, they are very independent and will not follow orders ... or so I've heard. That's why you don't see them as working dogs. Chow is second and they're pretty much one-man dogs, so they don't use them, either. Incredible the stuff ya learn writing a simple novel!
Thanks again and I'll double check whether Rudy should see that. See, I don't want him to, lol.
Hugs,
Gayle

wow.... descriptive to the point where I felt I was one of the charectors, being pummeled or whatever the action to me...
the flow of the story made it an easy read for me compared to other writings...
nicely done..
