Your use of words and the way you combine them to make a beautiful poem never ceases to amaze me. Other poets, some who are in the top six, write adequate verse but nowhere near the quality of your work. This is excellent.

Chris,

You're just a natural born poetess. Hands down, I believe you have the most consistent talent on the site. It's just an inherent knack you have. You're gold.

Great poem that makes me yearn for some warmth. It has been cold here. Much colder than in the past several years. Loved the vivid wording and the picture it paints of the changing landscape. Thanks, Jeanette

Funny isn't it, how the temperatures are going? Last summer was like being in an oven and I think this one is gonna beat the pants of it! Winter was the same, although this last one was a bit milder than 2007. Thanks my friend, for always stopping by and for your continued support and encouragement xoxoxoxo

Really great work; I always enjoy pieces that are critical of man's invasion and destruction of nature. This is one of my favorites. Keep up the good work.

I love this! You have used so many colorful and life-giving words to describe the driest land. It's very creative and the rhyme is superb. Flows well and the imagery is great. Great job

I like the language of this poem, it makes me thirsty. I don't get the reference to snakes mentioned in the notes. I don't see how it applies to the beauty of nature as a masterpiece.

Depends on how one views snakes, eh? While I'm terrified of those deadly browns, they are a beautiful sight slithering along in the sunlight (so long as they're going away from me). Thank you so much for your review and five stars - I'm glad you enjoyed this. (Following reading your comments I took away the reference to snakes in my notes - what you said made sense to me, so thanks). xoxoxoxoxoxo
