Your poem is so moving. The way you capture both the sorrow and hope is so well done. The poem flows so naturally. For me this was about remembrance and healing - I think that comes through loud and clear. The final lines really give a sense of hope. Wonderful work! Keep writing!

I'm so appreciative of your tender poem of remembrance of the liberation of Aushwitz. Unfortunately, not everyone on here honors this day because I've tangled with them over the years, one just recently. They've either forgotten the lessons taught 80 years ago, or they never learned the lessons in the beginning. I choose to remember and honor their memory.
Thank you so much!
God bless your richly, and my best wishes for the upcoming contest.

    Hello Sally,
I hope you are doing well.
The liberation of Auschwitz was a significant event in our shared history, and we must never forget those who died and those still suffering. The last thing I wanted was for my poem to become just another chunk in the long tradition of writing about the Holocaust. Sadly, some will try to avoid the dark areas of the past, and I find this thought process challenging to understand. We must keep helping people understand these truths, shine in the dark places, and stop such tragedies from happening again. But progress is slow when hatred continues to prevail over compassion. Each act of remembrance brings me hope that yesterday’s terror will remain in the history books. Thanks for the words that have a lot of meaning. I hope we can move forward together to a tomorrow defined not by what we have suffered but by what we have learnt.
Look at the world now: the killings, the torture, the bombings, the suffering of little children who have done nothing wrong. Man is systematically destroying our world.
Perhaps I should enter the Rant Contest
    Take care, and God bless
