Barry, attentive title, excellent picture, effective theme, ominous tone and
honest notes supplement your rhyming stanzas. Although, an honest ambitious undertaking to point out the harmful effects of over drilling on
the eco system, some of your rhymes seem forced and do not fit the content or properly complete the thought. Your poem touches on a vital subject, and with some tweaking could be better. teafor2

Barry, you are welcome...It is quite challenging when using mono-rhymes
especially, as the total rhyme scheme for all the stanzas. teafor2

It is common for politicians to sing the songs of caring lords, but in reality what they care about is power and control. The impacts of climate change and exploration of natural resources stand before us, yet some political leaders deny the obvious, staking the future of generations of people. Good work, dear Barry. remain blessed

Thanks for your review. Greed and power are our real foes. Many leaders are totally fixed on the present and their position in it. Anyway, take care and have a wonderful day.

It really makes me angry when politicians don't listen to the science. Our world is changing drastically because of climate change and yet they still want to drill for oil. It really does baffle me. A well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.

Thanks for your review. Yes, politicians are often deaf to the perils of certain activities, especially when it can stop the flow of money to them. Anyway, we must continue to try. Have a good day.

Progress is one thing...greed is another. When those in power ignore the consequences or maybe they are just blind, our lives and future lives are endangered. There needs to be compromise... saving a future for our children while moving forward in a responsible way.

Too many decisions have been made through the years where people ignore the consequences of those decisions. In this day of climate concern, there should be more account. That unfortunately is not the case. Your poem highlights this sad fact. Kudos to you for writing this.

Thanks for your review. Yes, I am not a fan of this type of marketing. Covers up many things that are not good for the environment and as a result, not good for us.
Anyway, Take care and have a wonderful day.

This is an interesting poem, Barry.
It carries within it a heartfelt cry at the idiocy of greed that is so often wrapped up in political slogans.
Those who have are all too good at empowering those who have not to believe they can. While knowing full well they are just leading along the sheep by the nose in blind ignorance of the rich man's greed.
The rhythm is off, but the message is on point.
Well done.

Barry, catchy phase that hides the disaster to our climate and environment.
The current administration has already made moves to stifle environmental protections and stop the development and use of alternative power.
Good and revelent poem

Mary,
Thanks so much for your review. Glad you enjoyed it. It is so unfortunate that many politicians do not consider the impact upon nature. Guess we have to work harder as individuals.
Take care.

Hi. I am glad you wrote about these words. How true they are. I like how you stated that drilling affects our planet, killing nature. What is all the money in the world , if we don't have a liveable planet. The words you used are so powerful. I enjoyed reading your poem. Great job.

Brenda, thanks for your review. I am glad you appreciated it. Yes, you are correct, all the money in the world will not mean a thing if the planet is not fit enough for us to live on it. Greed is the problem.
Take care and have a wonderful day.

When you say it will not inform anyone of what is in our future the catch cries of which you speak are here to warn us of Climate Change and other natural disasters that lie ahead of us if we don't change our ways and vote and express ourselves through letters and calls to our congressman. Drill, baby, drill is one heck of a way to earn a living.
We must do better than that and pave the way for our future.

Thanks for your review, Jesse. You are absolutely right about paving the way to our future. Unfortunately, there are leaders who do not have that in their portfolio. All about the present and the future looks after itself. Anyway, I hope you have a great day.

You are so right! No one is thinking about the future.
