Maybe it's just me, but I had some fun singing this out loud to the tune of "My Favorite Things" from Sound of Music!

Others have pointed out a few minor edits you might want to make, so no need to repeat them.

I love the happy theme! Yes, we know many haven't experienced this--but joy is contagious and we can share a glowing fire, a present or two, and most of all the true meaning of Christmas!

As for the comment about "poems should not rhyme" -- they most certainly can and have for centuries!

Blank verse and free verse have their rightful place, but perhaps that reviewer should revisit Shakespeare--who is known for his flawless rhyming couplets

Such as this, from Romeo and Juliet:

"This precious book of love, this unbound lover,
To beautify him only lacks a cover."

(And far more where that came from!)

A merry and bright poem that I truly admire, Willie!

What a festive treat. I hope someone can put music to it. I may have found a typo but I'm not sure if it is one or if I am reading the font wrong. The word "wondweful" second to the last line. Nicely written. Merry Christmas.

I started reading/reviewing your poem with the thought of a song in mind. I had no trouble humming a tune, but don't take my word for it, I'm tone deaf.

Hi Willie, lovely to read your poetry again! And this is a very upbeat, uplifting verse. One of my favourite lines is: Fireplace glowing with a crackling pop. This is so evocative of the snugness and warmth we associate with Christmas. I'm a little confused by the first line of the second stanza as I don't know what "Shares" are. And should that be "reflecting (in) the snow"? Also wher(e)ver. But you've charmed me with this imaginative and romantic poem. Thank you so much, Willie! Have a wond(er)ful Christmas and New Year! Warmest wishes Debbie

Thanks, Debbie, the word should have been "shades."

Merry Christmas Willie! That art work is so awesome and so are the words to your song/poem. I have been sitting here trying to sing it, but not yet able. It will be beautiful with the right music! May God bless you and Merry Christmas. Teri
