I guess that there are times when swallowing the truth can be difficult, This line is superb: "When truth prevails and souls accept, we feel our doubts go flying." Quite so.

Thanks Don.
I appreciate your Comments regarding the content of the poem. It is certainly an observation about how we handle all of the stuff that comes at us every day.

An excellent theme, Robert, which resonates with us all at the moment. We simply don't know what to believe anymore. Your fluent and delightfully rhyming verse, together with your creative visual and strong message tick all the boxes for me. Well done! Debbie

Thank you, Debbie
I'm afraid it resonates far too loudly this day and age. People and organizations can put whatever they want on the Internet and millions of people believe everything they read, see, hear. Thank you for your complimentary words about the style. My former publisher told me that my fastidious nature of using too much rhyme and strict meter is old fashioned and nobody wants to read that anymore. As I mentioned, it is a former publisher. Exact rhymes and fluent meter is what I like in poetry and lyrics. That's why it's how I write.

I've heard that too about people having problems publishing metered and rhyming verse. I'm afraid it would never stop me either. Sometimes, I wonder if it's gone out of fashion because it involves more work. With a language as rich as ours, I just think it deserves to retain this age-old, musical style.

When I fell out with them, I asked their experts to recite from memory all the free verse poetry they could. I then recited a half dozen real poems to them from memory. I wasn't going to work with them again, so I didn't care. One of their editors is a celebrated free verse poet. He couldn't rhyme hog and dog. I did learn a new philosophy at that time. I now quote Samuel Goldwyn. "Don't pay attention to the critics. Don't even ignore them."
I found that gratifying. I am pleased to be a "formalist style" poet.

Hi. I enjoyed your poem. You are right about all the information we see. It is overwhelming especially now. I like the words you used. It is a refective poem. Well written.

It is election day, and as I circle through the channels I'm hit by an onslaught of "alternative facts" and "conflicting truths."
Your poem is beautifully written in 8/7/8/7 stanzas and captures the maze of pseudo-reality we see on social media--is it AI? Is it real? Can we trust our own eyes?
In many ways, we must hold fast to our morals and trust our instincts.
God help us all!
Very thoughtful, Z...

Hi K.
I had to stop watching all of it. I sat here and watched Gunsmoke on TV Land from 1968. Thank you for the positive comments about the poem. I have resolved to believe nothing I see on the internet or TV. I'm even watching Judge Judy reruns. HAHAHAHA I'm spending a lot of time writing. Thanks for the read and review.

It is a bit like choosing to take small sips of arsenic...
I've shut it off.
Judge Judy sounds like a great alternative!

This is a brilliant piece, Robert. Social media has agendas targeting us all, especially the youth. I hope this fine reaches many reviewers, my friend.
God bless,

Hello Steve.
Thank you so much for your uplifting review of this piece. It's easy to believe social media has done more damage than it has done good. We tend to become part of the herd rather than individuals. It is sad youth have become so addicted.

My pleasure, Robert.
It is sad.

This reached me, right where it counts. What a great little poem speaking the truth so well.
I wrote a poem called Dystopean Nightmare which looks at the darker side of being trapped in the world we have created. So I can relate very well to this work.

Hello Tim.
Thank you very much for your impactful review of this poem. Humans do have a way of creating a world that traps them. I agree with you. It is as important to know why we believe, as what we believe.

I must say if we didn't know who steers the ship, we certainly could become confused, perhaps a little angry, I can remember the scripture where Jesus looked upon the harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd he felt compassion, beautifully written Robert, blessings Roy

Hello Roy.
Thank you for your insightful and positive comments. I stress in my Bible classes I teach that it is not only important to know the truth, but also to understand why we believe it.

Yep, something I knew from the outset, one has to know, why, how and who, I just knew something extraordinary had happened, but the rest was acquainting myself with Him, knowing that I was as important as anyone else to God. He is gracious.

Robert,
What a great poem. It says so much about the human mind and heart. If we would just ignore social media, tv and the likes our mind wouldn't be so cluttered. Great picture by the way.
Great job

You have a real talent, in graphics as well. Life is overwhelming for some. I feel for those souls who can't cope and decide to discontinue. Too many of my friends have chosen to discontinue.

Thank you for your positive and uplifting comments. I just began attempting to use AI to generate graphics. We live in some very tough days. People are having trouble coping. It appears as though the truth has a hard time getting through all the info storm. Simpler times would be a blessing.

God always knows the truth. That's why I have been praying for everybody to pray before they go vote this time. God is in charge. He will guide us to the truth. Thank you for sharing this very appropriate poem with us.

Hello Barbara.
God is certainly in charge in these days, even though to some it may not seem like it. We also have free will to exercise and I believe we are answerable to Him. Thank you very much for your positive review of the content of this poem.
