I'm glad you found time to post while off vacationing and visiting with your youngest son. I hope you're having a great time on the Gulf Coast. Thanks for sharing.

I like the tension build-up with Jasper and, of course, he did a fine job with Noah as back-up. I'm wondering how seriously injured the immigrant was (perhaps that could be included?). Otherwise, your story reads well and engagingly, albeit I think it could have been edited down a bit more. One edit: first line - before (pre)dawn - 'pre' isn't necessary as it's a duplication of 'before.'
Thanks for sharing your excellent story, Barbara. Debbie

I'll see if I can fix that. I see what you're saying but I meant predawn hadn't started yet. I see the confusion. Thank you for the kind review.

Another excellent read. So glad Galvin appreciates the usefulness of Jasper and is willing to assist with his meds. Just one small spag. Guarding a person in protect(ive) custody

A little more excitement in this post. Good to see Jasper get in on the action. The reader is now wondering if there are going to be more illegal aliens.

A fine chapter. Dogs do have a sense about danger, and are pretty astute judges of character. Just as well he wasn't hurt! Sami is not afraid to say exactly what she thinks to Noah, even though she cares for him. Looking forward to more.

So, Jasper gets to be a hero!! His nervousness lets people know there is danger outside. They let him out to go to the bathroom, and bang, he nabs him one. He also gets blood splatter from someone else trying to shoot him. Good thing they didn't let him get hurt, or there would be no end to how angry Sami would be!!

Great chapter,
Hugs,
Rhonda

Sami wouldn't take Jasper being hurt well, that's very true. Thank you for the kind review.

Very good. Jasper finally got to be a hero, which he is built for, and there is a bit more humor joking about the rules and the dog's jowls. They all seem to more relaxed in their attitudes toward each other.

Good Boy, Jasper! I'm glad he was able to nab some of the alien intruders. Dogs do have a sense about something being amiss and can alert others, like Jasper did. Noah was right to admit his mistake when Sami reproached him for telling her and Sarah to go to bed. So Galvin came to brings Jasper's meds. It'll be interesting to see how far things go before he becomes obnoxious again. I'll be interested to see what's up with the Mayan Hieroglyphs. You're wise not to introduce something like that unless it has an important bearing on the story, but I can't figure out what it is. When you write that Jasper knocked down a person, I think you might give some identification. Tell how he was dressed, did he look threatening? Maybe tattoos indicating he was a member of a gang? Yes, making brownies helps out when there's tension. Great chapter. judi

Galvin messes up in next week's post, so you don't have to wait too long. Thank you for the kind review.

You're welcome; Yes, I figured Galvin would make a fool of himself. Seems like he can't help it. judi

Another great addition to your continuing saga. A bit of action, bad guys subdued, then coffee and brownies. I'd do that job just for the brownies, but SDsmi is an added bonus! Keep on astonishing us.
