What wonderful letter. And even better that you were open with your whole family. I had a child but being the eighties, I was able to make the choice to keep him. This was flawless. Prayers to you and all of your children. Gretchen

It took great courage for you to post this, and to go through those superhuman decisions. I'd like to think even were it my own wife, I would want to opt for a decision involving Life. You are to be commended for doing so. Your husband, also is to be respected for being a just man, like Joseph.

Patricia,
You had a lot of courage giving your son up for adoption, and even more courage when writing this letter.
I'm so sorry you never found him.
But out of the ashes came this wonderful post that can help other who may have gone through the same thing.
Good luck, Patricia.
Blessings,
Cindy

I, too, could write a letter to my Father who left when I was one. He's just a picture in an old photo album. What a wonderfully written letter. Best of luck with your writing! Have a great day, and God bless.

P.S. I hope he gets to read this letter. He could be a Fanstorian.

Hi Patricia,
I found this story deeply emotional. I can't imagine what it must have been like for you. Such a difficult choice and yet you made it out of love. It was the best thing you could have done for him.
Your letter was raw and personal, and I'm sure would have meant a lot to him had he been able to read it.
Were you able to keep in touch with him? My niece found her birth father, her mother, my sister, kept him, but the father jetted. She'd always held resentment against my sister for never finding where he'd gone. Once she met him and interacted for a few months, she realized him for the jerk he was and dropped it.
Thanks for sharing from your heart,
Hugs,
Rhonda
