Awesome writing, John. I loved the flow of your details, including your dogs' assistance in serving. So cute! Your descriptive imagery was easy to visualize throughout this story tribute to this fine couple. I smiled the whole way through!

I don't think you need to apologise for it being in prose - they will love it, and they will be honoured that you have offered, in the romantic Italian language, such a delectable dinner party for them! It all sounds scrumptious, and doubtless they'll be happy, dancing, and excited until dawn!
Well done.
Wendy

You did great and did more than we expected to provide a simply delicious dinner and had the kids come join for dessert! And the fun part was I could understand a lot of the Italian just based on my Spanish knowledge! How cool! Thanks for another scrumptious post!

No need to say sorry. Story is eloquent and moving. Debbie wife I take it is not the Debi married to Glen? What a magnificent way to celebrate. Should it be "your" instead of "you" suits on? Italian American from NJ? I am curious. Well written. Esther

    Kidding me...no Italian?

Full blooded Italian. Both parents from ?the other side? as they once said. They immigrated here in 1952.

You cook dinner? I want some? Your wife is a lucky lady. My hubby can BBQ but corn dogs is about his best indoor cooking.

Thank you for honoring Debi this wonderful way. Sorry I could not join in the beverage but I told God and my wife (still watching me from up there ) I wouldn't drink.

Fifty years ago I was sent to Oceanographic tutoring in Lakehurst NATTC, and being a 2nd class I found off base housing at the Luna Mar motel in Seaside Heights near the boardwalk. The Italian owners adopted me as a son, teaching me the fine art of drinking demitasse expresso and amaretto liquor for the three months I spent there. A better love relationship I never found again. As for your anniversary meal... what? No pasta?

I absolutely loved this description of a beautiful anniversary dinner for Debi and Glen. I could almost taste the delicious flatbread. (My anniversary is in November. Lol.) The meal and wine sound exquisite, and perfect for our beloved Debi and her husband. I enjoyed your creativity as you included Darcy, Aries, and Snow in the celebration. This is a thoughtful and delicious tribute to a fifty year marriage.

Congratulations, Debi and Glen.

Hi John, your story and your planned anniversary dinner for Debi and Glen is so very sweet, and appetizing. The ambiance, food, and music was perfect.

I especially liked:
"Glen, we don't have flatbreads in Minnesota, do we?" Debi asked.

"Mmmm, I don't know, babe," Glen replied with a mouthful of flatbread. "We should though!"

(Flatbread and NJ rules!)

A fun story. Well done. Now there is nothing left to say, except ...

Happy 50th Anniversary, dear Debi and Glen
It's time to rock the night away.

Xo. Margaret

Dang, John, I'm out of 6s. You really outdid yourself with the menu and the writing. This should be a blueprint for an evening of good food, company, and lots of fun. Well done. Terry.
