We sometimes walk around blinkered and miss the beauty of our earth and the fine things that grow and the wild life, you reminded us of what we are missing here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you friend!

This is a beautifully written and crafted poem. It is stylized and presented in a creative way.
I appreciate the critical message you've expressed, one that I hope all of your readers will receive. Being from Choctaw descent, when I look at kernels of corn I see .... LIFE.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow! That is a special ancestral connection. I truly hope children are taught the vital connection to the indigenous peoples that helped make farming corn a worldwide gift.

Well said Jim!!! I enjoyed reading the progression of your thoughts and the cycle of life as a kernel becomes an ear of corn. Well done on all points... an exceptional FV poem!

JLR,
Your verse is clever - more than that, it's brilliant, informative and so very timely. I followed that tiny, dull corn kernel from its seemingly insignificant birth to its glorious manifestation of tassels and florets of
sweet juicy corn.
Yes, I see what you see. Thanks for shining the light.

Yes indeed, we must take the time for more respect for 'God stuff'. The life force of all on Earth depends on environmental care. Appreciating 'the majesty right before our eyes' is a great way to honour God and look out for our own lives. Your poem takes the reader on a delightful journey as the kernel is nurtured by Mother Earth's attributes to become sweet juicy corn (one of my favourite vegetables as it so happens).

I have no clue as to how you came up with this topic, but it certainly is unusual and not overworked. This seems to be something like a half-empty or half-full type of poem. But it is very well presented. Best wishes.

I think we all think of things simplistically, but I think I was worse before I baecam a Christian, the wonder of creation is to be contemplated with wonder, the refractions of light that illumines the Eve or the morn, the simple cornstalk, amazing God we serve, beautifully written Jim, good luck, blessings Roy

Amen!! Your words are that of a farmer poet who sees the miracle of the seed and the history represented in that dried up kernal which will grow into plants that feed us. Thanks for rekindling the wonder!
Best wishes in the contest!

I enjoyed your free verse poem JLR. You shared much wisdom in your well chosen words. Protecting Mother Earth is a worthy goal and one I feel we are obliged to do. Sadly, many do not.
Thank you for sharing.
Blessings

Janet thank you so much, it is a blessing, to truly see Gods mysteries in the simplest of form.

JLR,
This is a well written free verse that reminds us of all the beautiful parts of nature that work together to form our food and our flowers. We do sometimes have to be reminded how amazing it is.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Good luck in the contest
