JLR,
This is a wonderful poem of love and hope. It shows how we want to keep the happy times alive to help us through the challenges life brings. Cancer is a scary diagnosis. I am happy for you both that she made it through and is still cancer free.
Keep writing and stay heatlhy

This is a truly beautiful poem and it is made more special by your notes. I am so glad that you have been able to celebrate the five year cancer free milestone together. The poem is moving and thoughtful, and composed with skill and care.

I particularly liked these lines-
The still night does nothing to slow the rush of love
that is tugging itself outward from the depths of my soul,
-The movement in the very 'tugging' is very powerful and works well combined with the following words 'depths of my soul' as well as the next lines about your partner getting cancer treatment. It's very moving.
Thanks for sharing this

This is a very mesmerizing romantic poem. Am so happy about your wife's recovery. Love the comparison of the still night and the rush of love. If I may make a suggestion...in the last line of stanza 4, I think require you to fully rest would be more accurate...Sorry to be so technical. Beautiful poem...Best wishes to you and your wife.

Thank you for sharing this inspiring poem about your wife's victory over cancer. Your free verse captured beautifully the love and devotion you have for one another - and that - I'm sure helped her tremendously in her time of need. And the little rescue dog - Hazard - is the cherry on top. I enjoyed your response to the club challenge.

Been there. Done that. Both the rescue and the path of a loved one surviving cancer. As for the piece I read it thrice, but it seemed to me verses one and two should be at least in part, reversed. Walking with Hazard, then he's in the kennel. idk. Maybe I missed something
