What a great, fun poem this is, Brooke!!! I think this is my all time favourite that you have written (and they were all great).
Love it! I can see that children and adults would both love this poem. Chock full of very fun imagery.
Very hard to pick what my fave part is, as it is all so good. I guess ... "he swiped the sour from pickles" ... very creative and unique, I gotta say.
Just a delightful read from beginning to end, with excellent flow and strong rhyming.

This is absolutely the best I have ever read!
You caught that 'evil' look in Sawyer's eyes and
wrote the most magnificent story to boot!!
I loved every charming word and laughed a lot
while reading this.

I roared with laughter the instant I saw the photo. And the poem does this magnificent image full justice. I think they call this style "mock-heroic" (or am I confusing Leander with Lysander?)

Sawyer has that maniacal expression on his face, that its enough for his mommy to drop what's she's doing and offer up a piece of chocolate cake to appease the spell that has been cast her way.
Either that, or he's just wondering was his mother doesn't put his Cheerios in a bowl like other mothers do.

This boy is really bad--stealing honey from the bees and perfume from the flowers. Mom really got ticked when he stole the silver from the stars. Maybe the reason we have horses is because a kid like Leander stole the strips from a zebra.:}
