Wow! You have woven a clever and descriptive tale of intrigue and naughtiness.
So that's what little boys are made of.lol.
Very nicly written and rhymed and a thoroughly enjoyable read.
I actually think there may have been another who masterminded Leander's schemes.Perhaps you know her.lol.

I have to laugh at this one, especially after reading the author notes and seeing this is your grandson, he sure does have the 'evil eye' in this photo, but I'm sure he's a nice little fellow, but that's just the way it is, there really is something to that "Snakes and snails and puppy dog tails," and you really brought it out well in this poem.

Delightful tale and picture to go with it. I'm going to have to borrow my niece so I can read it to her. As usual, your rhymes and meter are perfect.

Brilliantly clever! You've got the most prolific imagination I've ever seen. Only you would think of such a marvelous premise for a poem. I love Sawyer doing an impression of Leandrer. LOL!

What a delightful poem, and just as delightful the new picture of Sawyer! This boy really became the site's favorite, and has fans from Northern America to the coasts of Africa (smile). He is sooo adorable, and inspires great poetry in you.
I enjoyed the misdoings of Leander the bad boy, and the great punishment his mother inflicted on him in the last stanza. Great abab 8-7-8-7 quatrains. Favorite stanza, among many:
He stole their honey from the bees
and perfume from the flowers,
and when the clouds released their rain,
the water from their showers.
Another wonderful work.

Thank you so much, Yelena. Yes, I've told his mom he has a global fan club. I've had folks PM me if there is not a new Sawyer photo after a couple of days. :-) I so appreciate your thoughtful comments, my friend :-) Brooke

This was such a fun read! I love your imagination. Great read for all ages. Nothing to criticise. And on the side note - Sawyer is getting so big!

This is an amusing and upbeat poem, Brooke, flowing well from beginning to end with excellent 8/7/8/7 rhythm and good rhyme. After all the evils `Leander' was up to, his mother had the upper hand in the end.
(Great photo of Sawyer - one that stands out!!)
Thanks for sharing,
God bless,
Christine

Such a fun poem about a miscreant child, or maybe it's actually about any child who has a spirit of (mis)adventure! :-) You are such a good writer to follow, such is your ability to bring wit and wisdom to your reader. I love that your work flows so comfortably, and never seems constrained by your flair for rhyme and rhythm.
