your 5-7-5 portrays well the image of the owl & the hearing of the screech in the attic
good imagery in so few words
good use of "L""R" "T" consonance
good use of "E" "I" assonance
flows easy to understand
cheers Smoothiecool

G'day Carolyn. That's a great little piece mate. I must admit that I've never heard an owl but I have heard many tropical birds and animals and they can scare up a storm. Cheers my friend, Fez

No dollar bills and no screech owls. Wow Fez, do I have to teach you everything.... LOL... They sound like this... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEche...high pitched. While most other owls hoot... I bet you do have some neat tropical birds, which I have seen in the zoo, but not in the wild. Wish our families could exchange visits... Hello to everyone. :-) Carolyn

Hahahaha! That sounds flippin' scary even for an old feral black/white fella, I wonder what they taste like LOL. If I ever get the money together I might just make the visits happen, it would be so much fun. Imagine me and my 2 filipino princesses prancing the streets of the USA, how cool. If you ever want to come here for a visit, just say so and everything here will be provided free for you and yours just buy your tickets and then come, anytime my dear friend you are welcome. Cheers Fez

Thank you so much, if I had wings I would come today. :-) Carolyn

NO, I have never heard a screech owl in the middle of the night. Or ever. I suppose it would be an eerie sound. Nice 5/7/5. Maybe not scary enough for the contest, huh? If one has never heard them! Miss Sally.

I never heard an owl do anything but hoot. But I take it you have. Any screech is bone-chilling, I think, especially the sounds of fingernails across a blackboard. Haunting image, Caroline.

Oh how I can remember my first day down south.
That wise owl kept me up all night.
I love the artwork you posted to go with your poem.

Truly excellent 5-7-5. The picture is amazing and it's only matched by the precision of your words.
I've never heard the screeching of screech owls, but I would imagine them to be, as you said, bone chilling.
I enjoyed this short poem a lot.

Hi there dear lady,
There are so many different kinds of owls. This little fellow is rather small but can 'screech' like he is being fried.
So glad you liked the poem and thanks so much for the awesome award.
Love you, Carolyn

you are so welcome...I think they are beautiful birds...you have a good screeching time...LOL...love ya...xxoo

Hi Carolyn,
Nope I've never heard screech owls. You poem about them is really cute! So you had owls in your attic. I'm glad that's never happened to me. I had enough night- mares when I was little, so they was bad enough.

Hi there, it is all fiction of course, however, when I was a child we had one that got in under the porch rafters. It could scare you stiff... LOL
So glad you liked this one.

This is yet another interesting poem by the author in this piece of work. Luckily, I have never heard the screech of owls in the middle of the night, and I hope I never will. It sounds horrible.
