Hi Carolyn,
This is a wonderfully written poem and a beautiful picture to go with it. I wish a poem would just pop out of my head and land at FS. Of course I haven't been here for a few days and hope I'll be able to review at least half of the posts I received.

Carolyn, this is a poignant and true sentiment of life-long love in a relationship that mellows from fire red to mellow gold-much like aged wine, it is precious and sweet. Well done. :0 GracieAnn

Hi Carolyn,
I genuine love this writing. And the way it descends the step to the end is simply very very poetic.
I am very happy this poem takes up far above you thought of.
Keep this line and all will be great for your writing.
Sorry I took some time to review. Did not have time.
Also I took a little time before I answered your question whether my publication was traditional or self.p. I had to wait to see what the contract said first.
I am glad to say that it is traditional. And thank you for all your encouragement.
Will begin to write shortly.

True love will never die Carolyn, it will mellow with age. But grow stronger with time. Yours is a beautiful poem that radiates love through the ages.

Dear Carolyn, this one hits a wee bit close to my heart today. Haunting emotional release - searching within to remember the good and true - sometimes that is the hardest of all. Excellent post with strong expressive word choices - a lot of emotion in this one - at least for me anyway.
Thanks for sharing it.

This is a lovely poem about love
that fades but doesn't die.
The rhyme is subtle and gives structure
to the piece.
Beautiful presentation.

when young we can wait to enjoy life to the fullest and then we start slowing down and the times of old starts crrping in but we dont despair for we are still in love still just not as friskey

And sometimes frisky is waiting just around the corner. I guess we aren't quite ready to be pressed in the pages of time. Thanks so much for this wonderful review. :-) Carolyn

Impressive! This really just popped in your head? The whole poem or the idea. It's true that with age, our eyes dim in color, but thankfully, not the flame of love still inside.

Yes, it did actually. Sometimes I have to work at writing other times it flows. I obviously prefer the flow. LOL Glad you liked it.

A most lovely free style and free verse poem. Well constructed and it is hard to believe that it just popped out of your head. Nice read. Don
