Yes, you should! This was great! It's real and cathartic to get this stuff out. Writing is supposed to make you feel something. Reflecting on these people, their lives, their misfortunes, their missed opportunities only serves to help you process all that you've done differently-to see how far you fell from the tree and found fertile soil to grow a legacy to be proud of.

Damn Bill, that is one of the most depressing stories I have have ever read. I have some nieces and nephews who are doing very well, leading happy and very successful lives. I also have some nieces and nephews who are troubled, depressed and in dire need of assistance. None have reached out to me for anything, and I appreciate that, as I am not in a position to be of very much help. You are correct, you should not write about this part of your family anymore as it is very depressing.

Good, then it’s not just me.

Not by a long shot. I think that anybody and maybe everybody who is not destitute are looked at by family not doing so well as a possible donor.

These things happen. My mother's side of the family, the cousins make an effort to get together, usually at a restaurant. This effort is usually spearheaded by my sister-in-law, who now lacks family members herself. The number is dwindling, however. On my father's side, I didn't keep track of all the cousins. There were a great number of them. My brother recently sent me the obituary of a cousin on Dad's side of the family. I hadn't seen him in many years. That's the way it is with families. As you write, it does get depressing. judi

I was never able to say "Good-Bye" to Rhonda, due to Covid. I HATE COVID!!!!!!!!! My brother died with no children. My sister had two, a boy and a girl (Jill). I don't hear from her son, but Jill is as close to an angel as you can get on earth. She helps me with my every need and is like a mother to my daughter.
Strange how family histories work. Jill and I couldn't say "Good-Bye" to my sister, either, as she was killed in a car accident.
