I've found this to be true on HERE, too - not just in the news media!
I think you did well with this very structured form of poetry. You kept to all the rules and got your point across well then topped it off with the perfect cherry of a photo. I have to say I'm surprised it didn't post higher in the polls. Oh well, such is the way of FS contests, I guess. They have far more to do with popularity than talent!! xoxox

Hello good friend, Rachelle.
Thank you for reading and responding to my tantrum. I am done with the contests. Thank you for taking time to read the snippit of a poem. When I saw half of the entries didn't meet the writing style, I couldn't believe they were not excluded from the voting. I hope I don't sound like I'm whining. I am... I just don't want to sound like it.
I have learned a new line I keep in mind. It is from Samuel Goldwyn: "Don't pay any attention to your critics. Don't even ignore them." That makes me laugh every time I speak or read it.

And you're not whining; you're just expressing how you feel...and PS, it's extremely VALID!! I mean, what is that "COMMITTEE" that we pay our entry money DOING, exactly, if not checking the guidelines and ensuring that everyone who's posted has complied? I don't get it, and I think you're smart not to give them any more of your time or money...or attention and not even ignoring them. xoxoxo

If you ever decide to write music, let me know. I will help with the lyrics. I can even handle syncopation in verse. HAHAHA I was a R&R drummer in 1965-1967. I wrote lyrics then too.

An excellent entry for the Tyburn Poetry writing prompt. This seems the perfect topic for right now as all I can hear on the news and see in print are lies and misinformation. We can never stop calling out the lies. Thanks for sharing.

A worthy contest entry for sure, and highly prescient for these particular times. You even chose colors that are subtly political -- very well done. This was one of the few writing entries with "ing" endings that actually rhymed properly. In fact yours might have been the only one. Good luck! I'd vote for it if I wasn't in this contest too ; )
