Pam, I love this poem. I didn't know you were an artist too. Is there anything you can't do? =) I was a bit unsure about the paint being thinned. To me it gives emphasis to diluted paint being better than paint applied directly. Just an opinion.

That was lovely, Pam. Your words capture thoughts that must be going through the man at the river's mind as he paints the lovely scene. You've added more detail than that which pours out of the painting, delving deeper into the reason the artist is creating it for. I think I'll find a picture and see what I can spot beyond the painting. This was excellent, my friend. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Warmest hugs, Sandra xxx

This poem, Old Man at the River, captures the many big and small sights which contribute to the painting. This gift will present a heart and the value it holds for a special woman.

Out of six but it deserves it. I can just see the old guy sitting there trying to capture the moment. I was think about the Mississippi so long so wide but yet so narrow. Good post.

You are a phenomenal poetic storyteller. An old man sits all day, painting a beautiful scene of the river, but sees only what he wants to include in his painting which is a tribute to his diseased mother. Your descriptions and story are well thought out and enjoyable.

Totally lovely package. Image and wording is spot on. Thanks for sharing and I am glad the man drowning was going to be saved. A fine tribute to mum. Well done. Take care and have a wonderful day.

I enjoyed reading your words and love how the painting is for this man's Mom, even though she has passed on. You tell a story here in poetic form. Your poem reads like a mini movie. Your descriptive words create a clear scene and I admire your smooth rhyming of words. Excellent work here.

Hi Pam,
This poem tells a nice rhyming story about the painter and the reason for the painting. I don't know why doesn't see the swimmer that's drowning. Or maybe he thinks the boater will get to him in time, so he doesn't react to try to save him. It wouldn't me such a serene painting if he included the drowning swimmer. This is a good way to finish the grieving process.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Joan
