Ciao !
I had just finished reading the entries, I got up to get a drink and when I got back the booth was closed.
I had no idea you wrote this eye-catching poem, it's been a while since you posted last.
I'm glad to see that you won just the same.
I love mythology and this unique take on Winter which is upon us.
I saw the first snow on the Swiss mountain tops in the far distance yesterday.

North of us, they have snow and temps in the minus centigrade. We are warm at plus 10 degrees Celsius.
Thanks for your review and stars! Boreas was a new mythological god for me. Glad the FanArtist gave me the illustration idea.

Your haiku vividly fits the prompt with this transitional stage of the seasons. The visual is wonderful and complements so well the chill of the winds while sunshine's golden rays weaken and fail to penetrate the battling trees. I like this very much, especially with your aha moment in the last line. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Debbie,
Thanks for your recognition of my poem's intent. The aha moment is something I strive for but rarely accomplish.
Boreas was a new god for me. Pleased you liked my FanArt illustration selection.

The reality of winter comes as a shock to the system and once it takes old it does not like to let go. I enjoyed your chilling reminder here, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Hi Mystery Writer,
He's coming to get me, I know it. I love your picture selection to go with your nature haiku. He's missing a finger. I wonder if he gave himself frostbite.
I like the suggestion of a battle between the Sun and Old Man Winter.

Patricia,
Like your interpretation of that battle between Sol and the Old Man on my contest entry.
