But then my birthday came, and between all the poems, tutoring my grandson in college English and trying to keep up here while still blind in that one eye has become a lot.

Wow! I am out of breath. My maternal grandma would have perfectly fit J.D. Vance's Cat Lady. She was only single because she was a widow. All this has significance because, I wound up having to live with my grandma for a few months, and I was placed in charge of her houseful of cats. I had to care for all their needs. Feeding, cleaning up after, even burial of any that became deceased. This was in rural Arkansas in the 50s, so there was no calling ASPCA or any other service. I was the service. I was 12 years old at the time and ofr the longest time, I was not a fan of cats. I am over that now. As a matter of fact I have had a pet cat whose name is Cheddar, for a few years now. I think it is safe to say that I have healed from my early trauma. I am sorry, I did not mean to make it about myself, it is just that the post opened up some suppressed memories.
