A very well-written poem always. This poem makes me think of where the soul will find herself when leaving the body after death. Will it be an unpleasant place or a place of tranquility.

Thanks for reading, Sandra.

A great poem.
"With skin as black as aigremore;"
Remind me not to play scrabble with you. I don't think that's really a word no matter what your notes say.

Hahaha, it is indeed, Thomas, but it is very archaic.
Thanks so much for reading.

Not in Ireland...not in Poland....you described my town, but you won't escape unscathed...You will be hounded as an outsider. Beware...your doom awaits..
I loved the words and rhymes like Poe's....

Thanks so much for reading, Nika, and for the Poe reference. That's always a wonderful thing to hear as far as I'm concerned.
Should this weary traveler (namely me) ever come your way, I will remember to remain on full alert, heh-heh... I'm very grateful for the six stars, too.
Again, thanks so much taking the time to review this.

I really enjoyed reading this piece. It just flowed so well, the meter is excellent. Same can be said for rhyme and rhythm, presentation... Favorite line is 'I'd been blinded by my sin'

The poor traveler should not have been so vain and dismissive, crybry67.

I appreciate your comments as well as the six stars.
Thanks so much again...
