You captured how I feel about New Years, every year:
Taunting
Threatening
Terrorizing
On this glistening first dawn
Of potentialities and new beginnings
Only a fool would miss
This opportunity to renew
I always am so sad on New Years for all the things I proposed and didn't accomplish the past year, yet feel excited and rarin to go for the next, with my old unresolved resolutions and new ones added on the list! hehe
It was a nice, fun and 'hit home' piece.

Ah Sally! Happiest of New Years to you! Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. The structure? Well, I'd have to say - as far as free verse is concerned - it's my own....It's just the way the words fall onto the page. D Longo pointed the originality of it all to me about six months ago. At first, it was just an attempt to express with a paucity of words, and now, it's just the way I write free verse! Wishing you a marvelous year of love and laughter! diane

Wonderful! I truly enjoyed it. The use of repetition, but not to extreme is well done. You use the power of the three's extremely well and one can tell you have a talent and a passion for the art.

What a lovely piece - really enjoyed reading this and cannot find one thing I would want to see improved (imagine me telling an English professor to improve something! HA)
But all that aside, it is striking in its punctuation, especially. Lovely sentiment and the bit of humility at the end. zb

Your poem was very well written and flowed very easily. The thought behind the content gave the words much thrust...however I have to say that I'm a big fan of this style of poem. For most, I'm sure it works well be it just strikes me as 'not my cup of tea'. With that being said I would certainly not deduct stars for style of poem.
