I get the drinking problem loud and clear and whoever says there is no such thing as angels just hasn't had a close enough experience with one. I have an angel who watches over me. Angels do exist :)

This is a special poem. I enjoyed it for the rhyme and the way you told the story--not so much the story.

I see that you refer to this as lyrics. Is this to be a song?

I see no changes.

The flow was great from beginning to end. There was no break.

Yes sir, they are wonderful country music lyrics. I am afraid however a time will come when his wife just gets tired of wishing he would give up the drink and all that goes with it. I would love to hear this set to music! Kat

Yes, you do have a song here. Country western or not, it speaks volumes. I can see why you are proud of it. I would guess the words here hit home more often than realized. A friend of mine left her alcoholic husband after nine years. After she left, he quit drinking. I don't know what the answer is or what 'the right thing to do' is. But, I think most people do the best the can. Best wishes.

Have you put this to music? There are a ton of country songs about alcohol abuse, as you well know, but I have never seen quite this take...obviously emphasizing the wife as a hero and a rock in the relationship under circumstances where most would flee revolt in some way. I hope you get this in an album soon if it's not already!
