My goodness, Brooke - Your talent is un-ending. This set of quatrains was a joy to read - I especially liked the innovative topic, and the suggestions of what characters, creatures, and features the book drop had swallowed. I also liked that the book-drop was not some fearsome monster - but perhaps a friend. So nice of Sawyer to worry about whether or not the book-drop had a tummy ache.
This would make a nice children's story too. Because it is about getting children to read, there should be a copy of it posted in every classroom, and especially at every library.

Brilliant and imaginative look at what the book drop ate up namely all the adventures, nature and mystery that's in those books. Well done, a very creative approach, Brooke.

Hi Brooke,
I once put a library book in the drop, forgetting my favorite bookmark was still in it. Now I know why the librarians could never find it. Another clever and cute poem.
Hugs,
Lou

Thanks for bringing back the memories of trips to the library, of stacks of books carried by little hands, of growth measured in titles, "Tin Tin" to "Bonhoeffer", of books on tape, of life shared for a little while.

So he's gone out and made friends with books. How awesome. He'll soon get lost in all these wonderful stories. Time jada paid attention to her stories. Had too much on my plate the last week. Loved the poem. I wonder what goes through his little mind when he has to do all these things. :) luv jada

Jada, thank you so much. At home he has dozens of books. When Miranda reads to him she can stop half way through any line of any of the books and he will complete the line word for word, and remember, he's just 26 months old :-) I keep checking for a new chapter! Brooke :-)

Brooke, this is a delightful read due in part to the conscientious crafting, but the concept itself is musing, and had me wondering about the direction of books in general. Kenny
