If I had a ten you would have it my friend. That was so beautiful. You seriously are an outstanding poet. I'm gobsmacked. Your versatility is amazing. This piece of music only adds to the sheer beauty of this piece. Not only is it well written, but the whole thing is soulful and the best I think I've seen thus far. Sheryn :-)

Wow, thank you, Sheryn. The best you've seen so far? That's quite a statement, there are so many, very talented poets on this site. I am humbled by your kind words...

There are many, many wonderful poets that I a, just in awe of, but the music piece with it just set the most beautiful scene. I could see the lavender blowing in the gentle breeze as I read your poem. It added another dimension altogether. I've listened to that piece a few times now and looked up the Japanese woman who developed those manga cartoons I think they're called. And in terms of the significance of the colour purple - I understand since the film of the same name has always been one of my favourites. So, you see, your poem was wonderful, but the whole picture you created just took it to another level. Sheryn :-)

I get to see it every spring & summer day, well into the fall, as well. We have a large pasture near our home, and my Chihuahua, Gidget, and I head out, every day, at 5:30 am, without fail, to greet the sunrise in that field. It was on such a day, with pen and paper in hand, and Gidget chasing imaginary rabbits, that this poem was born.

I can imagine back in ancient Biblical times purple could have had it's own reality show and been as popular as Gold Rush. The poem and I'm guessing the style felt almost celtic and just rolled off my tongue making the words more intense and the feel. I'm no poet, but I know what I like, and I liked it.

Hah, ironically, I am no poet either, foresport12. At least, I've never considered myself to be one. So, I guess we are even there, LOL...
Thanks for the kind words, my friend.

Dean, I am so honored :-) The painting is gorgeous. You definitely do more than horror!! LOL
and the music is such a perfect choice for the mood you create in the poem and artwork.
Lovely rhyming couplets, nice touches of alliteration, vivid descriptive detail, all build to create a beautifully haunting, melancholic mood. I didn't want this to sit a whole day before I responded to it, so I don't have a six available to give, but I would if I could :-) Thank you so very much for this gift. Brooke

I wouldn't say they are all that limited, my friend :-)

An unexpected and delightful change from your "morbid" usual. I like the hunt of royalty and majesty you put into a simple color and lilac field. The picture was soothing and made the poem a smooth, relaxed read. Good job, my friend.

Thanks, TJ, I appreciate it. My first love is horror, though. Always has been, always will be...

I know how you feel. My wife has asked me time and again to write something not as...ummm...me, plenty of times, but I find it hard to step out of my genre.

You always manage to surprise me one way or another.
You have a poet in your heart
and you are letting him come through
through your art.
Keep up, my friend.

This is lovely. What a wonderful dedication to our dear adewpearl who I think is one of the most talented lady poets I have ever read. The music and the falling blossoms are beautiful. This is so soulful. In my mind you have more than a six.

Hey, my dear friend, dipster, what a pleasant surprise! I was certainly not expecting a review from you, and what a joy it is to read one, once again! I won't be on FS, or anywhere else for that matter, probably for at least two weeks, as we are moving this weekend into a new home. We will not have internet service for quite some time, until they come out and "juice us up", so to speak. Rest assured, when I return, I will be loaded with lots of new material that I can leave sit in preview mode because I have no member dollars to promote it highly enough to be read. Just know this, my friend, you're always on my mind, as well as in my heart...
Thanks, dip, you made my week!
