Forever remembered by we who have aged. Too bad once we are gone those memories too may be gone. Will they revive things like that in the future. Who knows. Our world is much too progressive, our fun is not their fun. Well done.

Raffaelina, I fear those days have come and gone, children to day need to be entertained, they are quickly losing the abilities to co-create with others.

Ah anon, what a lovely trip down memory lane with you. The games we played took me back and also on a nostalgia trip. I like 'We played in the rain, the cold, the sun.' We did indeed. No TV to distract. But we never hung around the house - like you say we were outside playing. I never see kids out playing in the street now. Thank you and good luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy

Dorothy, thank you it was fun to nudge the past for a while.

You have poetically defined my childhoods toys and playing behaviors
in a creative retrospective. I now ponder if modern technology are such
a benefit to today's youth, as I now gift my grand children through
Gamestop.
Best wishes with this worthy contest entry.

They children today including my eight grandchildren would be in a world of hurt if the power grid every failed over twenty-four hours.

Beautifully penned throughout its enthusiastic old playing games storylined narration, poetical structure and above all its funny content. Now I shall start playing them myself. A good work. Blessings from Italy

Nice poem, I enjoyed it. It's funny because I totally agree with this poem and yet I'm still happy to sit and use my phone instead of going out to walk. That may be because I live in a hot dirty city but still.

Oliver thank you, modern convenience does soothe our paths

Yes, we did, Mystery Author. We had fun without being tied to devices or staying inside. Your examples of the games are great and very memorable.
Sally tossing (space)Sonny. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

Weren't those the days when we knew how to entertain ourselves! You bring back lots of memories. I love the line "We played in the rain, the cold, the sun." We loved to get out in the rain, make snowmen, snow angels, tracks and forts. We played shadow tag in the sun. Those days were fun!

Yes an interesting portrayal of what childhood used to be filled with fun and frolic and interaction - wonder what memories today's children will carry with them into adulthood

Zanya, this I am certain, they will have fewer memories and far less names of human friends.
Comment from Therese Caron
How true and how well written. We used our imaginations for everything and were never bored! I feel sorry for today's youth, who will not have the memories you describe so well. Good job!
I never could get that Slinky to go down an entire flight of stairs!

Therese, I agree, they miss far too much of interactive relationship building with another human.
Comment from Sallyo
We did play those things, but the way I remember it, a lot of them - hula hoops, pogo sticks, hopskips and so on were crazes... they'd appear in a school, and be very popular and then vanish. Then would come the next thing. It's much the same as it's always been... just more electronic.
