I think the voters are seeing your flexibility on show in these competitions. We all know you're a great poet, but to find such levity, inventiveness and sheer fun on display in a conventional format, is not quite you normally present. Firstly, I can only imagine how you came up with the theme which is so unusual. The use of verse, rhyme, meter is impressive and how you've woven the set words in has almost given you an excuse to be so outrageously joyous. You must have deserved this win. I would have voted for you if I'd been around.

Hey Mark - every so often I get into the nonsense stuff. When you get a prompt like that, it's fun to sit and free associate pure nonsense and see where it leads ... just a sick puppy I guess! Glad you enjoyed and thank you for the high compliments!

This is wildly original, given the constraints of the prompt. Though the terms are advanced for children, I feel it as a poem that children would like as much as fun loving adults. It's just a fun poem that clicks along happily.
