Dean Kuch Pictapoem!!! And this one is as spectacular as all of them.
Serves that caretakert right! Necrophiliac of the worst kind, but he became Myrtle's desert, hehe.
I loved the research done on this one and read the author's notes with great attention. This story reminded me a bit of the movie Supernatural--one of my favourite series.
Top marks, ten out of ten, for Dean Kuch's pictapoems:

Eeeeyeeew, just ick... you do manage to put me solidly on Myrtle's side though. The good news is that you never claimed to shy away from disturbing thoughts and images, and anyone who dares read past such ominous titles as "Waiting With Open Graves" knows exactly what kind of tals they are slipping into. I haven't mentioned this before, but I really enjoy your presentations of your work.

Dear Dean
You scared the hell out of me before I'd even started reading! This is such an expressive post and your author notes made me shiver. I'll stand up to anything but not the spooky or the horror, big sap I am.
This is an exceptional work grabbing all my senses. Not to mention making my heart take off like a freight train. When the music played on automatic.
Yikes but one hell of a post.
Thanks for scaring the hell out of me.:)

Ha ha, thank you, Maureen. I am very grateful to you for this fabulous review. It's very encouraging!
Do you find the music intrusive? What I mean is, does it bother you that it begins playing automatically? Would you prefer to have the option of opening the video yourself? I'm just gathering some popular opinion, as I've heard it is annoying to some. My intent here is to entertain, never to annoy...
Thanks so much again, my friend!
-
I didn't find it intrusive - just a post that already scares me and the music bumped it up a few notches. You always entertain...but I can't read and hide behind the cushion at the same time:)
Hugs

Thanks, Maureen. The tally is:
43-No, not intrusive, I love it!
10-I'd rather turn it on myself...
3-I hate it!
It appears, by this count at least, (if everyone is being honest?), that most don't find this a problem. Looks like the majority wins, LOL...

Great!!!! Though scaring the hell out of me.....makes me eat more chocolate...:)

You are at the your best in poetic commentary and notes that show how you so thoroughly know your topic. I know you digressed a little for the rhyme with catamaran but it gave me a real lift of laughter. It was an imaginative identity in a imaginative poem.

Hah, thanks, Alan. A little comic relief goes a long way, right?
I do appreciate your wonderful review. I'm very grateful..

I always get excited when I see you've posted something new. This one about the cemetery and it's old necropheliac caretaker is both terrifying and humorous as he gets his just rewards. Wonderfully colorful characterizations like: cranky caretaker ( loved the imagery and alliteration), Whistles quite merrily whilst, a toothless wry grin, Sheets of fabric from a wrecked catamaran, kneaded callouses hands, whispered coquettish voice. Truly a delightfully grim read.

Hah, thank you, Mr. 'T', I really appreciate that! I'll admit, given the subject matter, I almost didn't post it. It "sat", lingering under preview mode for over a week. I have others in poetic limbo hell there, right now, LOL...
I am always very encouraged by your fabulous reviews. Coming from a poet of your caliber, whose work I truly respect and admire, I can certainly take you for your word.
Thanks so much, again. It's deeply appreciated.

Oh, Dean - I thought it about time

longer have any and it's only Wed.

Thank you so much, Margaret. I do so appreciate your constant encouragement and support. The World So Blue, yes, I remember that one. Some sad story I saw on the evening news prompted me to write it, as I recall. I am humbled and honored to know it's in your personal bookcase. Again, I thank you...

I usually skip poems that are marked high violence or sex.
Because I saw the author's name I took the decision to read.
As I progressed I found no explicit sex or violence ore sex so I read on.
Th quality of the language I describe as eloquent. The aabb rhymes were perfect and the presentation of picture and picture fitting. The author's note were informative and I need confirmation that the contents are factual. Great Work

Thank you emrpoems, very much! I certainly appreciate your fabulous, intelligent review.
This 'pictapoem' series; one that combines a poem embedded in a photo, with musical or sound accompaniment, is one of those "love-'em, or "hate-'em" types of things. Fans of this format dearly love it. Others scold me, claiming I must not be very confident in my writing if I need all of the bells and whistle. Nothing could be further from the truth. Music, in and of itself, is poetic, lyrical; a media that can transport us back in time to younger, happier times. That's what these poems are designed to do, transport the reader into the story to make them feel a part of it.
As far as the sexual warning, I have learned from past experience that had I not placed such a label on it, I would be chastised for it being about necrophilia. It is what it is, a tale of terror, designed to instill terror through the overall experience.
I've ranted long enough, I apologize. I do thank you for such an encouraging review.

Dean Kuch--I got almost as much perverse pleasure from your
prose-like author notes as I did from your superb ghastly
and morbid story/poem. It's great stuff. The poetics; the
peripherals; the details; the scenery; the banter and the
potential necrophilia that went wrong. This is indeed a
story/poem that begs to be read in a graveyard on Hallowe-
en...around midnight. :) teafor2

Dean,
I just love the education as well as the entertainment aspect of this one. Made me smile, giggle and smiggle all the way! I definitely love the way it is laid out as well. I swear some people will come up with anything to get attention. LOL NOT you but the teens. Either way, this is an awesome piece. Hope you're having a great one.
Love,
Barbara

Your author's notes are almost as chilling as your poem. You have a very creepy mind...lol But I appreciate that this one may be based on the truth which you tell in your notes.
The poem is wonderful, great rhythm and rhyme. I think the old caretaker got what was coming to him. Karma. :) Sandra
