Bev,

The action and suspense of the story reach a new high. After some supernatural events happened at Tony's house, he and Wasu went walking in the woods. He was looking for his favorite mushrooms when Wasu leads him to a body of an apparent cleric. The body was at the same location Agnes' sexually-traumatized son killed himself years before.

The story is well written with an interesting mixture of Indian and white man customs. It held my attention through the entire chapter.

This is tremendous. It's exciting, and also an education to read, giving as it does an insight into a wisdom and a beauty alien to us Wasicus.

I have nightmares that are every bit this frightening. When I finally fully awaken, I realize they aren't real. Great use of descriptive language and a strong building of suspense. Great writing~Debbie

Bev this is beautifully written here. You have a great unique but natural way of story telling that I can breeze right though yet feel I'm getting every detail of the scene as they unfold. I think I've only read a few chapters but certainly can pick up from here. I have been smudged by a friend who does it for people, she chanted something and rang a bell once or twice. It was a huge almost a torch of sage. She made me spread my arms and legs and run the smoke around those areas. Lol! It was weird, especially at night by a bond fire. That was last summer. Anyway thought you would get a kick out of someone who could relate to smudging.
So anyway, I'm just so impressed with this chapter and the smoothness of the reading and comprehending of it. Your are a true writer that's for sure.
Good to see you post again. Hope you are well add good.

Aw, Vicki, you honor me with this exceptional and so-encouraging review. Your words are gold! And thanks for sharing your experience - fascinating! I've smudged for myself and clients. Other than smelling a lot like POT, it usually does the trick for me. I'm heading out for a vacation this weekend, so I'm feeling pretty darned good right now. Off to northern California. My hubbie and I are going to look into places to stay out there next winter for a month or so. Maybe we'll be able to finally meet in person. That would be so awesome!! I hope all is well with you.

    Love ya, Bev

Darn it I was hoping closer. I now live in Redding CA. But research mt. Shasta, trinity, redding and see if you find anything that interest you. It's beautiful here. What type of vacation are you looking for?

It's pretty there too though. But for future ideas it would be cool to be your tour guide. Oh too I have another place. Put in www.goldriverguides.com and check out that lodge. Remember its where I go.

Well now Mt. Shasta is rumored to be a famous site for encountering UFO's. We like to relax, eat and drink wine. Nothing too physical LOL.

This definitely deserves 6 stars. Is reads very smoothly and the suspense is great. Poor Tony is really put through it with the mysterious moving mattress and the shaking cabinet doors. The devilish creature has singled him out for some reason. Trouble follows him as he finds the dead man when he's hunting mushrooms. The reader can feel for Tony as he goes through these traumatic experiences. You're doing a great job of presenting secondary characters. judi

As usually this is great, always well written as good as any novel I've ever read and keeps your interest. I've always loved anything about Indians. I've always been drawn to them, they are just so interesting. A+ again, Rox
