Another riveting chapter. The back and forth between the sheriff and the desk sergeant is very realistic as is the onset of Stanley heart attack.

This story of yours, Bev, is getting more and more complex and making me want to have an answer as to whom the killer is. I'm not saying, of course, that I want the story to end but rather that you are so good at building up the suspense with so many interesting characters. I don't know if I've asked you this before, but I've wondered if you knew where you were going with this before you even started writing. I continue to be so impressed--great description of Stanley when he goes home and has what I'm guessing is a heart attack. Guess I'll have to wait to see if he survives. Great story and wonderful writing, my friend.

I'm not saying, of course, that I want the story to end but rather that you are so good at building up the suspense with so many interesting characters. I don't know if I've asked you this before, but I've wondered if you knew where you were going with this before you even started writing. Oh my heavens, this is such a good chapter! I hope they get inside and get this man to a hospital - I missed too much of this story from the beginning and I am so far behind in my reading, but I want to go back and find out what I missed!
