I like the American national anthem much more than our anthem here in the UK. I've looked at a few international anthems and it is really fascinating looking into them, especially as you learn about the history behind them. An excellent piece Debie.

Unfortunately, Trump has wrapped the flag around himself and people's eyes are blinded from what was and what will come. Your history is vast and Old Glory was carried in many a battle. Who is going to carry her into this upcoming battle.

Hi Debi, everyone who lives in our great Nation (citizens and non-citizens) should kiss the ground they live on, and they should stand when the National Anthem is played. Even if we are watching a Sport on TV, I stand for the Anthem and I put my hand over my heart. Freedom isn't free, and some people will not realize what they have/had until they lose it.
Your poem reads and flows well, and your message of love and respect for our Nation shines through. Of special note:
