Now things are beginning to fall into place!
I find that writing in a particular dialect or social stratum is difficult to sustain, and I was particularly impressed by the way you handled Mildred's longer stretches of dialogue, keeping true to character without overdoing it.
I can't wait to see how this unfolds.

Great work again! This story is coming along nicely. I like the exchange between the two of them about 'the powers that be'; it really leads you on until Mildred reveals that her understanding is completely different from Veronica's. No mistakes that I could see.
