This is the real old country and western style yelling to be let out. Excellent lyrics lyrics here and a motif that is common to a lot of songs both c&w and folk as well. The good advice ignored, the murder, and the inevitable retribution with grief all around.

Very well-written song lyrics, I can imagine someone standing on the stage and hearing a man voice singing with regret that he did not take his daddy's advice to take the high road to prevent him from heart ache.
