Mary,

This is a very touching tribute to your father, told very eloquently. Every father should be so fortunate as to have children who love him and hold him in such high esteem. Your dad was obviously quite a guy. It is wonderful to have such knowledge of your parents' history as a couple. I know you feel you should have expressed these thoughts at his funeral, but I would bet whatever you did write in your eulogy clearly evidenced your love for him. The fact that these thoughts burn so brightly twenty-one years after his passing speaks to the impact he has on your life. When my father passed away in 1991, I wrote some thoughts down on paper, as did my twin brother and we allowed our pastor to speak on our behalf. Though we were both experienced public speakers, we did not think we could hold it together emotionally. The pastor was amazed at how in sync our thoughts were. I took pen in hand, however, and wrote a letter to my dad, expressing to him in private what I could not present in public. It was my version of "What I should have written......" It was cathartic for me and I wish I had expressed those thoughts to him while he was alive, but there has not passed a day when I do not sense his presence, so I know he knows what was in my heart. As you say, "I know he knows." No doubt, others who read your narrative will be touched by your writing because it strikes a familiar chord with them. I am sure your father is very proud of you. I look forward to reading more of your work. Keep well.

Thank you so very much for your in depth review, excellent rating, and your own personal experience. That is amazing about your message being almost identical to your twin. I have heard for many years of the uncanny connection twins master. Thank you again, and I'm sorry about your dad, too. Blessings.

You did it again! Sad..humorous..and portraying strength...your love for those who surround you shines through your work. These are great memories..the fabric of lives well-lived. Inspirational book of family memories? I am certain you have many from the child who knew her grandpa as Bob.

Thank you Nika2106. My daughter has limited memories of her grampie, as she was only 3 when cancer took him. I loved your review. Very much appreciate the feedback. Have an awesome day.

Thank you so much DonandVicki! I have never had the confidence to put these "out there" until now. The feedback has been nothing short of exhilarating for me, and a huge confidence builder. My family and friends have been badgering me to write a book for years. Hopefully, this membership will help me to achieve that dream. Thank you again, very much.
