Pierrot figure, the wise fool, the harlequin. You should throw it in your author notes. Anyway, no longer dancing to the tune of war, the war of life, the battle against aging. Memories of leaden soldiers/ ice cream- great transition to childhood, the lead soldiers our play puppets. A foretaste of death on the nursery floor- knowledge that everything is transitory. Excellent poem with great imagery to describe, well, an image.

You are so right, it is the brush stroke between the images. It's the silence between the music notes. This is a beautiful work of art Tony.
